I took the family camping this summer...here are a few sketches of what to watch out for...

DTTN "Drawn To The Night" last night

Another good event in Plymouth hosted by Kirbi Fagan at the Plymouth Arts Council.  Live drawing session with local artist.  The Atomic Age theme ...If you don't come for the drawing, come for the Food.  A great spread of sweets and wine!  Even the Evil Vordak (John Martin) was there.  Very kid friendly and fun.  

New Tablet "Girl in the Air"

Been having a hard time getting back into sketching lately.  Not really sure why, guess its just been a busy summer.  Just bought a new drawing tablet and am still getting the bugs out.

Here is a little test sketch on the new ASUS tablet.....it just another doodle that had a life of its own,

Poster for Kids

I drew a number of ideation sketches for a bird poster for the 2nd graders.
We had fun drawing birds.  I thought the simple circular shapes would be easier for the kids to handle. I got mixed results in the class. The kids have trouble experimenting with shapes before adding detail. Still working out systems....having fun...

My Roller Coaster -Gatekeeper

Did a project for Cedar Point back in school mid 1980's ....just went for a visit yesterday and saw it in real life...great minds think a like....The new "Gatekeeper" looks a lot like my design from school. The car segments, the color, even the support pillars for the track....I am sure many others had similar ideas but it is fun to see the similarities.  I will always consider this MY roller coaster!:)

Greenfield Village Opening day

Went out last weekend to watch baseball at Greenfield Village near Detroit.  Perfect day, great weather and good game!  Got a few sketches in and photoshop'ed them together

His notebooks are fun and got me trying different things with my sketching.


They don't play with baseball gloves...bare hands!  You sit in the grass close to all the action.
The rules and uniforms are from 1867!  Very fun! HUZZAH!!!
